Hardly Hi-tech but damned useful. I think many a digital audio DJ has come across this whist testing DJ or digital audio production software in conjunction with their built in internal audio sound card/device on their laptops. I'm talking about the audio hum which makes many think hum free audio is only achievable via some sort of external purpose made audio interface. (myself included) Even more strangely, on my particular machine I don't actually get any audio hum when monitoring the built in internal audio soundcard through headphones but for some reason it becomes very apparent when hooking it up to an external mixer or amp which is a shame really as its capable of 96Khz studio grade playback and recording for the sound quality to be pretty good for a built in internal audio device. Its just the audio hum that pretty much hampers it from being used in any serious way.

It would certainly be very handy for using it along side an external audio interface for additional audio channels. Note: if you want to use low latency ASIO streaming with multiple audio interfaces of different brands and types at the same time in something like Ableton live you'll need a universal ASIO driver. Obviously you'll have to tweak the setting a little to get the latency timings right in order to get all the devices to be in sync. Look up ASIO4ALL, its free. Fortunately ASIO4ALL has also just released a stable 64-bit version of their streaming audio driver for all those so called pro DJ's that were crying because they couldn't get support for their 64-bit Windows Vista or 7 OS because they were too lazy to use Google and tap a few keys and perform relevant searches for instant results. Audio hum suppression for DJ gear or cars Apparently there's hope. I've not tested it yet but at $10 it's a relatively inexpensive device that can suppress the audio hum when connected somewhere between your laptop and your mixer or amp.

Hey everyone. I made a little lite fx program to run behind my serato interface.

I have been testing out this flossyfx program live for the past month or so. It seems to do the trick that I wanted it to give it a download and tell me what you think. The way it works: The app is made to provide sound fx to your live performance with out the purchase of a sampler.

I provided both PC and MAC versions. It uses your existing sound card so you will need to get an RCA to 1/8th inch adaptor to plug into a spare channel, or a 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch to plug into your mixers mic channel (depending on your setup).

I have the program running in the bottom left hand corner of my screen with my serato sized up a little. This makes it easier for me to access the sounds while I'm 'in the mix'. I provided some screen shots to show you what I mean.

Let me know what you think I need all the feed back I can get. Download here. Here's another that I did today, I feel this one is better as it allows you more room with serato. If you notice on the right hand side I have a gain meter.

It's my intention to have that fully functional so that you can contrl the output from the program rather than your laptop. If people want I would possibly consider creating one with some basic/custom effects.

All I would need are the sounds. I haven't tried it with Serato but I gave it a good testing on my laptop with task manager open. Aunsoft Video Converter Help. I tried my best to overload the cpu process by rapidly and continuously clicking effects. The most I was able to generate was about 20% usage. This would NEVER occur during a playout as you wouldn't be clicking teh buttons in rapid succession as I did (3-4 times/second). The program looks killer. So how are you proposing the 'feature add' to serato?

That they would incorporate this as a whole? Seems like a big departure from the current structure of the program, using a sampler and the line-out from the computer. Not that they couldn't but that would set a precedent for the program really exploding with features that not everyone needs. How about a serato API that made the current BPM within serato (and maybe other info) available to third party programs/plug-ins like this? Then many little helper apps could be developed for each niche need. Like the lyrics support (a different post) - probably not best built in to serato (because hip-hop heads like you wouldn't use it:-) ) but the current song title could feed a 3rd party lyrics database program.

Nice thing, i was always looking for such a programm!!!! The triggering of the samples it not really on point - when you press the a-button (for example) it takes a bit (not much but noticeable) until you ca hear the sound >>>this needs improvement 2.

The triggering should be 'one shot' >>>when you press 'a' (for example) twice you will hear two air raids at the same time! When pressing the same button again before the sound hast ended it should start again from the beginning >>>not additional, not the same sound twice (at the same time). Such a sampler should be implemented in ssl because this would be much better than having it running as another stand-alone programm because i like to have ssl in full-screen mode (when i minimize ssl i´ll always get usb-dropouts) SERATO TEAM: ADD SUCH A SAMPLER PLEASE.;). Quote.so has anyone figured out how to add our own sounds? Technically macromedia flash player is an ActiveX component, developed for web and Internet users to view graphical vector-based animations with music or videos etc. Whatever samples, drops, sweepers, liners, ids you have it must first be converted to a swf file (sound wave) file. There are several programs to convert any mp3/wav file to (swf) just google it.

My problem is to determine what program Curtified is using to pre-loaded all samples to which keyboard key. Yo Curtified is it X Director or Studio 8? Well anybody that knows how to webdesign should be able to do this in a flash. Or maybe Curtified can post instructions on how to pre-load your own samples. I will post my results if I can get this done with my own drops and instructions how to do this. BIG UPS Curtified for FLOSSYFX PEACE! For those of you who love this program but are angry @ the fact that you can't add your own samples, no one's responding to our pleas to make it better & one of the samples is freaking loud, here's a solution.

If you own virtual dj, you can use its sampler the same way your using flossy fx. Advantage is you have 12 slots for samples, you can add your own & you can assign them to any keys you want.

Just hook your headphone out to an input on your mixer. If you don't have virtual dj, try the demo then buy it.

It's a very hot program(of course i'm entitled to my opinion).
