Quote from onedollar: I have a Synology NAS which I recently bought and it comes with a two free camera licenses but I'm wondering if I should jump on this and use Blue Iris instead of the cam software that Synology provides? I also use a Synology NAS.I'd say DEFINITELY jump as the camera licenses are insanely expensive ($50 each I think) and I'd guess most homes will have much more than 2 cameras. It also limits your expansion options and instead of spending money on licenses, spend it on more HD, a better Synology NAS unit, etc. It's just not worth investing in the Synology cam product line I feel. They really should just bundle a ton more camera licenses (who even buys this?) if they even want to compete.and this coming from a Synology fan as I am getting ready to buy another (waiting for a sale). Quote from hyperz69: Download protection. So eventually you will not be able to download upgrades, just the binary you originally downloaded?
No you will always be able to download updates and the full original version.it has been that way for years and still is.the protection is sold by the checkout company.its useless. Just email your key to yourself in case you lose it.
